Getting a sense of it
What is Frankee?
Frankee.ai is an AI-powered Agile teammate that helps teams plan, collaborate, and continuously improve. It supports work like creating AI-ready user stories, preparing for team and stakeholder conversations, identifying risks and patterns, and turning Agile practices into useful day-to-day guidance, without requiring teams to become prompt-engineering experts.
Is it a replacement for a Scrum Master?
No, and it is not designed to be. Frankee does the preparation that gets squeezed out: reading back through months of retro notes, assembling a review narrative, working out what has quietly stalled. The conversations, the judgement, and the decisions stay with the team. Several parts of the product deliberately refuse to give an answer where a person has to.
Can I try it without connecting anything?
Yes. Story generation and retrospective analysis work with no tracker connected at all. Standup, sprint review, the planning agent, and the action-item scanner read your tracker, so those need a connection.
Pricing and trials
What does it cost?
- Individual: $19 per month.
- Team: $49 per month, per team.
- Annual plans include two months free, at $190 and $490 respectively.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 30 days, and no credit card is required to start. You get full access during the trial rather than a reduced version.
What is the Early Team offer?
The next 20 teams get full access free through December 31, 2026. After that it is $49 per month per team if you choose to continue. No credit card is required to take it up. Spots are limited to those 20 teams, so it may already be closed by the time you read this.
Which plan do I need?
Individual if you are one person working on your own backlog. Team if you want colleagues in the same workspace sharing story sets, assessments, and team configuration. Team billing is per team, so an organization running three teams pays for three.
What happens when my trial ends?
Nothing is deleted. You will be prompted to choose a plan, and your data is waiting when you do.
Frameworks and trackers
Which agile frameworks are supported?
Team Setup offers five options, and the choice genuinely changes behaviour:
- Scrum. Fully supported across every feature. Sprint-based standups, Sprint Review, and the Planning Agent.
- Kanban. Supported with continuous-flow equivalents: board-based standups using column work in progress and dwell time, and a date-range Stakeholder Review in place of a Sprint Review. The Planning Agent does not support Kanban in this release.
- Scrumban. Treated as sprint-based, so it gets the Scrum behaviour including Sprint Review and the Planning Agent.
- Custom and Other. For teams that do not fit the labels. Both are treated as sprint-based, and there is a free-text field to describe your cadence, which Frankee uses as context.
Only Kanban takes the continuous-flow path. Everything else is sprint-based.
Which work trackers does Frankee connect to?
Jira Cloud and Azure DevOps Services. One tracker per organization: connecting one while the other is connected is refused, in both directions. Jira Server, Jira Data Center, and Azure DevOps Server, the self-hosted products, are not supported. See Integrations.
Do I have to use a tracker?
No, but most of the product assumes one. Without a connection you can still generate stories, export them to CSV, run retrospective analysis, and run assessments.
Does Frankee change things in my tracker?
Only when you explicitly ask. Pushing a story set or an action item creates new work items. Frankee never edits or deletes anything that already exists, and never writes on a schedule or in the background. The Planning Agent is read-only and writes nothing at all.
Which Azure DevOps projects work?
Projects on the Agile and Scrum process templates. CMMI and Basic are not supported and do not appear in the project picker.
Data, privacy, and security
Do you have SOC 2?
Frankee is pre-audit for SOC 2 Type 2, working with Vanta as our compliance platform and Advantage Partners as our auditor. Controls are in place and monitored; the formal audit period has not yet begun.
Our Trust Center publishes our current control status and supporting documentation, so most security reviews can be completed without contacting us. Our Security page covers infrastructure and data handling, and anything else is available from security@frankee.ai.
Where is my data stored?
On infrastructure hosted in the United States, encrypted at rest with AES-256, with all connections over TLS 1.2 or higher.
Can other organizations see my data?
No. Every request is scoped to your organization, and that boundary is the product's core invariant rather than a setting. A request for data belonging to another organization does not return a permission error, it returns nothing at all, so existence itself cannot be probed.
How are my tracker credentials stored?
Encrypted at rest against your organization's record, and treated as internal: no API response or settings page ever returns them. Only the connected account name and the date you connected are shown back to you. Disconnecting clears them.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Frankee uses Anthropic's Claude API and OpenAI's API for embeddings, and both operate under commercial terms that exclude customer data from model training by default. See our AI Use Disclosure for detail.
What AI does Frankee use?
Anthropic's Claude for the generated narratives, stories, and analysis, and OpenAI's embedding model to index your uploaded documents and prior stories so the relevant parts can be retrieved. Our AI Use Disclosure sets out where AI is used across the product and what that means for your content.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can request an export of your content, and deletion. See the Privacy Policy for the full set of rights and how to exercise them.
Using it day to day
Can Frankee be wrong?
Yes, and the product is built on that assumption. It works from what your tracker says, so it inherits whatever is in there: tickets closed without being finished, titles that do not describe the work. Treat generated stories, review narratives, and planning proposals as drafts with your name on them. Where Frankee cannot know something, it is designed to say so rather than fill the gap, which is why you will see explicit "not yet evaluated" notices instead of confident silence.
Is there a limit on how much AI I can use?
Each organization has a monthly AI budget. If you reach it, AI features pause and the app tells you the date it resets. Everything that does not call AI keeps working.
Who on my team can connect a tracker or change settings?
Organization admins handle organization-level settings such as the Azure DevOps connection and billing. Team admins configure their own team. Everyone else uses the product without being able to change shared configuration.
Are the stories I generate visible to my team?
Not by default. A new story set is private to you until you share it with the team, and only the person who created it can change that. This is the most common "why can't my colleague see this" question. See Story Generation.
Can one Frankee team point at more than one tracker project?
A Frankee team maps to one Jira board or one Azure DevOps project and team. Two Frankee teams can share a single Azure DevOps project, which is what the area path setting keeps separated.
How do I get help?
Signed-in users can reach us from Settings › Contact Support, which sends your message with your account details so we can pick it up faster. Otherwise use the contact form. We typically respond within one business day.
